Oscar's No22 Aurora
We are always delighted whenever a No22 comes through our door.
The Aurora, in our opinion, is one of the best model from the American company. Designed for to be reactive on roads as well as having clearance for up to 700 x 32c tires, the Aurora is a bike that you can take it and conquer on numerous terrains.
This build was done up for one of our long time friend who have been patronizing us since his earlier cycling days. We caught up with him to chat about his stellar titanium build.
CPS : Hello Oscar, thank you for the support over the years. What was the reason behind getting a No22?
Oscar : To be honest, I know there are other renowned titanium brands out there, but when I got to know of No22 (Little Wing) 10 years ago during my fixed gear days, I have never stopped following the brand. Prior to this I was on a steel gravel bike, and I thought a titanium frame would be the most suitable step forward for me to appreciate the responsiveness (like carbon) and springiness (like steel)!!
CPS : You are a loyal fan of 22bikes! Were there other considerations for any other brands?
Oscar : Moots, Firefly maybe? But I have already set my love for No22 frames since 10 years ago. So I would say there wasn’t any other options for me.
CPS : 22bikes should pay you to be a spokesperson! Was there a reason on selecting this raw colourway since No22 offers brilliant colours?
Oscar : Personally speaking, having a raw finish is probably the best way to celebrate any material. Especially titanium. Also, you can never get bored of the industrial look of raw metal. Looks nicer in black & white photos too ha ha
CPS : What is the story behind your choice of the components given the way it was set up the way it is?
Oscar : The Enve SES 3.4 AR with 30mm tyres could be the best way to represent an all road and all terrain and all elevation in my opinion.
Oscar : I chose the ROTOR Crankset due to its modular system, and of course because it is ROTOR. 30mm tyres to give myself peace of mind through the tarmac and occasional urban obstacles . The non-aero handle bar to celebrate that old school round tube look!
CPS : You had it all planned out! Was there any specific plans with the bike in the near future?
Oscar : No other plans for this bike – nothing to change, nothing else to upgrade. Will just ride this bike at my own pace, bringing this all around the world as long my health allows it. Though I am considering a 28mm at some point
CPS : Good to hear! Any other things you like to shout out?
Oscar : Yes! This bike always brings me smile whenever I ride it, like sinking yourself on a well seasoned leather sofa!
Are you thinking of a No22 bike?
