Standert Bicycles has been nailing things right for the past few years with a surge of demand and interest in their products. The Kreissage has been a great success, so much that every launch sees the colourways and sizes sold out rather instantaneously.

The Kreissage RS (Race Series) evolved from the Kreissage, notably due to its full integration setup but a key aspect would be the choice of tubing it was built it up, the alloy material Scandium which is known for its stiffness. The Scandium was used in the earlier version of Kreissage but that has ceased in the recent Kreissage offerings and only found in the RS variant.

Being a stockist as well as an avid fan of MAAP, it was really great to see the two companies working together on products for Team Standert. The Kreissage RS team series has always been an icon on what Team Standert represents and who are sponsoring them and the latest that has jumped onto the bandwagon is MAAP.

GC being a fan of both brands as well immediately reached out to us to secure one for his build. He has always like the Kreissage and once the new team colourway got unveiled with MAAP supporting as well, it was an automatic trigger button for him.

What was supposed to be a short turnaround build led to a long one due to the building configuration that was planned for this build. The plan was to assemble the frameset up with several lightweight components and some of that led to a long lead time which was consistently being delayed by the manufacturer.

The choice of the seatpost, stem and handlebar ultimately got diverted to ENVE which were more consistent in its delivery timing while also knowing that ENVE will never be a wrong choice although the weight may not be one of the lightest around given their pricepoint as well.

The wheelset choice got down to the ENVE SES 3.4 for its all around profile and that with the alloy frame and geometry, a 39mm depth at the front and 43mm depth at the rear gave the bike a balanced asthetics while ensuring the wheels provide ample performance on flats or climbs.

GC wanted a hubset that is light. smooth, stealthy and of reassuring build and quality. DT Swiss often came to mind as one of the brands that offer quality and stability for their products. The DT Swiss 180 has been known for their lightweight, stiffness and durability while also employing the usage of SINC ceramic bearings.

The groupset choice was straightforward. With the Dura Ace 12 speed ever being so reliable, it was the go to groupset although the latest SRAM RED has been proving itself otherwise.

The choice of saddle was a Berk Lupina padded. Given how featherlight they are, Berk's saddles are surprisingly comfortable to many who had issues with their saddles and are still seeking the perfect one. These Slovenia made saddles are wonderful!

Standert Bicycles has certainly nailed it with their Kreissage lineup and the brand has a very cute cat design that is synonymous with its branding image. All of us here love the cat!

Thank you GC!

Been thinking about a build?
