Celebrating Standert 10 Year Anniversary

2022 has been a great year! With travelling back to normal in the later half of the year as well as many exciting releases by many brands, the year has also been a 10 year mark for the German company, Standert.

The company has been gaining a lot of attention over the past few years, notably the road race pedigree Kreissäge. While the scandium-built race machine has been in the limelight, it is notable that the first road machine churned out by Standert was the Triebwerk made of selected Columbus tubing.

It was naturally the model that Standert decided on to commemorate their well deserved 10 year anniversary. Finished off in an exclusive grey paintwork that shimmers in day or at certain angles under the light, there were only ten of them produced.

We were given an opportunity to purchase one of the limited production and received a size 52 that was numbered 3 out of the 10. There were other selected dealers across the world to have been given the opportunity and each of us were tasked to build it up accordingly to the way we deem fit.

We opted for the Chris King limited edition two tone matte black gold colourway for the headset and hubset that we thought, fitted the frame better. A limited edition together with an anniversary edition frameset, what other better way to go about it?

We considered a few options and eventually settled for the ENVE S.E.S 3.4. The wheels were done up by Built Wheels and the tyres that goes on it was decided to be the Continental GP5000S TR transparent although that caused some internal conflict on the tyres choice.

The groupset was the reliable and sleek Shimano Dura Ace 9270. There were other options that were on the table but ultimately it went to the Dura Ace for its reliability, performance, aesthetics and ergonomics. Moreover the braking fluid that is crucial for our climate here, which has a high humidity level.

Darimo was our selection when it comes to the handlebar, stem and seatpost. We had wanted something that boast lightweight, stiffness, great profile and of course aesthetics and thought the Darimo will be a great match. The truth is, we struggled with the options on the table and were glad that we settled on the Spanish!

A Specialized Power Mirror Pro Saddle (143mm) was put on it as the saddle has not faulted the bottoms of many but then again, we might be wrong!

We thought black cages complimented the frameset better and tried several cages from different manufacturers before we decided to go with the Silca Sicuro in Black Cerakote finish.
