No 22 Bicycles has been known for their award winning titanium frames. Having won and coming out on top in consecutive years in 2018 and 2019 NAHBS (North American Handmade Bike Show) against other renowned builders, it is a testament to the quality work that has been coming out from the bespoke company.

Kok Meng needed a new bike to replace his Madone which he felt was wearing him down and he was frustrated each time when he wanted to bring a bike for an overseas cycling trip.

The decision to turn to a titanium for his new N+1 was simple. He declared that he was not a racer and he wanted a more durable material to travel with, although he embraces a lighter option that carbon offers, the truth was that he wanted some comfort as well

22Bikes has done many amazing finishes to their titanium frames and Kok Meng has chosen to go with the green finish for his steed. He was captivated by a 22bike that he saw in the store that has the green finishes and in the natural daylight setting, his heart was set on the green colour way.

Having owned and ridden several higher end carbon bikes,  Kok Meng wanted his new bike to be responsive and an all rounder such that he can tackle climbs or flats as well. The model Aurora was chosen after a fitting and consultation done with FitSkuul. The conversation allowed Choonwei from Fitskuul to design a geometry that tailored to his needs and the end result was satisfying for Kok Meng.

Being a fan of clean aethestic bikes, the BlackInc integrated barstem was chosen due to the ergonomics , stiffness and weight of the handlebar. The additional Blackinc computer mount was a bonus to Kok Meng as it allows a clean look which was what he had wanted to go for.

Having seen a few builds that uses the Rotor Aldhu Carbon crankset, he loves how the minimal aesthetic of the crankarm is and equally attractive to him when it comes to the weight factor. The Rotor Oval chainring was also carefully thought of as they comes in 48/32 specification which allows him to acheive a 1:1 ratio with a 11-32 cassette. Not to mention that he was inspired by his idol Nor Rahim who has been running the Rotor Oval chainring and crankarm on his Bastion!

The wheelset was skilfully built by Built Wheels who assisted Kok Meng with a lightweight wheelset without breaking the bank. A FarSport laced to Carbon Ti hubset with Sapim CX Ray!

Thanks Kok Meng! We will remember that you like the green on your Aurora because to you, it means the Aurora lights!
